Yes, you should trim your wick 1/4" before you light after every use. You can use a trimmer or simply pinch off the burnt excess.This will insure your candle does not accumulate black soot and the flame does not rise too high.

The first light of every candle is the most important. To create an even melt pool simply allow your candle to burn until the wax has melted to the outer edge before extinguishing the flame. The optimal burn time is consider to be 1 hour for every inch of the diameter. Depending on your candle size this may take between 2-4 hours. For example if your candle diameter is 3 inches allow your candle to burn at least 3 hours before extinguishing the flame.
It is recommended not to burn your candle more than four hours at a time.

From time to time soy candles can release a white residue known as frosting and this should not be consider a flaw. "Frosting" commonly occurs in candles that are made from natural ingredients like soy wax.

Soy wax has a low melt point and will release excess moisture it cannot hold. This results in "sweating" which occurs naturally and should not be considered a flaw.
To remove the moisture simply wipe your candle with a tissue or you leave it be as this will not affect the burn quality of the candle. Always store your candle in a cool dark place when it is not in use.

Soy wax is sensitive to temperature change and can sometimes shrink causing air bubbles to appear. When this happens an air cavity may form causing an illusion of a wet spot on the candle jar. Wet spots do not affect the burning of the candle.
